Day Camp for Grown-Ups -- A trip to the historic Cataloochee Ranch and Valley.

Join us for our "Day Camp for Grown-Ups" on Thursday, May 15, on a field trip to the historic Cataloochee Ranch and the Cataloochee Valley.  Campers will enjoy a bar-b-que lunch on the terrace of the ranch house and a short program presented by Judy Coker, daughter of the founder of the ranch.

Following the lunch and program, campers will visit the Cataloochee Valley and a number of preserved historic homes and a church located there.  Elk have been reintroduced into the Valley and are frequently seen in the meadows of this area.

Campers will convene in Black Mountain in the parking lot of the Black Mountain Savings Bank, 200 E. State St., at 11:30 a.m. to carpool to the sites. Arrangements can be made to meet others who live west of Black Mountain en route.  Cost for the camp is $25, plus a $5 donation for the drivers of carpool vehicles.  Reservations are a must.  Please call the museum, 828-669-9566, or email swannanaovalleym@bellsouth.net for more information or to reserve your place on this unique excursion.
